Food and Company was formed by Joan Gate and Margaret Brough, sisters that have been involved in food, catering and event management for many years.
As farmer’s daughter’s, we have a great appreciation of locally produced, quality foods. We have a great knowledge of sourcing, preparing and presenting fine foods from the Lake District. Over the years we have catered for a wide range of events throughout Cumbria, from wedding feasts to intimate dinner parties.We invite you to join us for these exciting cookery workshops held in the Garden Hall, Mirehouse, Keswick, have some fun and share with others some of the benefits of our skills, knowledge and love of food.
The seasonal flower workshops have become very popular and are being continued throughout this year’s programme. They are held in the Pigeon House Studio, Mirehouse; these are unique, fun and practical days to share with a group of six friends. Perfect for a birthday treat for someone special.
Mirehouse – Historic Home & Gardens
Our venue is the Garden Hall set in the grounds of Mirehouse near Keswick. The demonstration room is light and airy, very relaxed and comfortable and opens onto a sheltered Victorian verandah.
Mirehouse has a spectacular setting between Skiddaw Mountain and Bassenthwaite Lake.
